These recordings aren't for everybody. They are audience concert recordings, primitive by today's
standards. The sound is distant and echoey, and there is noise sounds to be from adjusting/
bumping the recorder or microphone. The performances, however, are worth giving a listen, imho,
particularly "Gates of Eden" and "It's All Right, Ma" and "Tambourine Man" on disc 1. Bob really
has the audience in his pocket--you can hear their delighted responses to "WWIII," "John Birch,"
and "If You Gotta Go." (He was pretty funny in those days.)
As I said, this isn't for everybody; but according to Olof, there are only 7 existing recordings
of shows from 1964: These 2; 2 from the Newport Folk Festival (July 24 &26); Forest Hills (Aug.8
guest appearance with Joan B.,); Philadelphia, PA (Sept. ??); and The "All Hallow's Eve" show
(Oct. 31--"Live 1964"). http://www.bjorner.com/64.htm#_Toc491259081
The Bob Blackmar radio interview, a 13+ minute track, is virtually unintelligible, but you can
make out some of Bob's characteristic sparring with the interviewer.
