Santa Monica, CA 1979

The end of November 1979 found Dylan in a four night residency at Santa Monica's Civic Auditorium. The gospel fervor was at a fever pitch on this final night. Brother Love's traveling salvation show let go, and the valley shook. All shows were documented by stereo audience recordings. This one is perhaps the best quality of all. Even though at times it's a little distant and muddy, it's always full and warm and easy to listen to. It's a powerful and inspired performance. The band is tight and Dylan's on fire. Gospel fans will love it. Those that like to hear Bob talk need to pick this one up just to hear him preaching to the converted.
